@yahavx I play it. Depending on your position, it can require little thought, or quite a lot. It's mostly instinct though. For example, a quarterback has to look at receivers while making sure he doesn't get tackled. A linebacker, like me, has to watch the ball, and control who gets through his "gap". The sport isn't retarded, you just simple-minded.

@rockandrule100 yeha, i played rugby at a time, but football players suffer alot worse injuries. in rugby, everyone is smaller, and because you don't have helments you always see when you are about to be hit so you can react. in football, the helment makes you less coordinated, so you get sacked without a warning. thats why in rugby, you get bloody noses, cramps, even some craked ribs, while in football you get comas, broken limbs and neck injuries. however both sports are awesome.

The pads were introduced because of early television and the pass and parents watching at home the violence of sports was introduced the pads made it look approvable. Remember the cloths line tackle used to be highlights not a fine or suspension. Rugby is still a drunkerds game I believe, "Lets drink a pint go play rugby.". Can't do that in football.

@destructionking23 the reason I brought up basketball is that the terms non-contact, contact sport. collision sport. yeah its just a word really. collison sport seems to me a buzz word made up by the promoters of gridironl. doesnt mean anything to me about which is tougher. thers plenty evidence to prove that rugby has collisions. Most rugby players weigh in at 220pounds... Mike's vocals were always a little rough live (still are, he just doesn't belt it out like he used to). I actually like Mike's singing style in AF better than with Owen. I wish he'd belt it out like that once in a while now. Also, little known fact. Steve Holmes wrote all (or nearly all) these songs... major contributions/collaboration from mike and lamos obviously, but holmes actually came up with most of the music first and they added to it (think mike wrote most of the words though).

This is such an incredible song..the trumpet is kind of dreary.. which puts you in the mind-frame of someone in a slight depression preparing for departure from the ones they love. By the time Mike Kinsella opens his mouth, you already know what he's going to say. You already know how to feel about it.. yet with every passing word, you grow more and more entranced with the message of the song...
