tsunami waves are long frequency waves that travel under water at deep ocean at speed of 500-1000 km/h normal waves are short frequency waves at travel at the surface of the water at much slower speed normal waves die off short, tsunami waves keeps on going for thousands of miles this is just a huge normal wave.. if its a tsunami wave at this depth of the ocean, this guy wouldnt even notice it exists, which is barely observable

On the Severn its basically one wave, but the turbulent water behind it sometimes forms up into 5 or 6 smaller waves very close together. Only the front wave is any good for surfing. I'm not a surfer, but those who do surf the Severn say it is different to an ocean wave. It is more of a surge of water than a wave.

"huge wave"? if one starts to call this huge how do you call waves that break at Waimea Bay, Mavericks or Shipstern Bluff or Jaws etc.. ??In surfers language these are 6 foot waves on the hawaiian scale (measured from the back of the wave)... Waves can be surfable without jetski assistance up to heights of 25 feet on the hawaiian scale.

not really mate, every1 has their own techniques that suite them better then what others do, i personally pop up with my hands on the side and find that easier, i can do it with hands on top but i just find it easier to push up quicker with them on the side where as u obviously dont. niether way is 'correct' its just about finding the way u prefer.
