@dontlistentomeimmute They have been using Houdini, Photoshop, Retas, and others. Computer softwares alone can't make attractive 2D animation. Even though a user is whiz with CG softwares, without decent visual art skills, it's very difficult to create a pretty film that person want to make.

@dontlistentomeimmute I don't know of the software but a lot of this looks hand drawn with cel shading (which is what koji prefers) studio 4c really pushes the boundaries so for the most part if it's been newly created they're using it.

@TheTruthIsGonnaHurt They made a movie that will be on the screens soon called "First Squad", which they made together with a Russian company called "Molot entertaiment" It doesn't seem to have the trademark of Studio 4degrees C of the "abstract"ness from the trailer. Also if you come to japan you can see some commercials and TV show openings that they have made. They also animated "Detroit Metal City" don't go to the english site yet, they haven't updated their works. They have done alot.

Yah, I hear ya. I think they worked on Tekkon Kinkreet, which can be purchased in the US. It was also directed by a US guy, and it's the worst thing they've worked on imo. Mind Game was so much better. 4C should direct their own productions and not be afraid to break the mold. Its what makes them them.
